Savage
Four shouted lines, then no words for the rest of the album. Fast, and the deepest-sitting track on the record, with more weight under 60 Hz than anything else here. Five choruses in three minutes. Ends dead, no fade.

Destroyer
The tightest arrangement on the record and the most mid-forward. Intro, verse, bridge, a second verse cut shorter than the first, chorus, break. Hard stop at the end.

Brutal
The brightest and widest-sounding track on the album. Fifteen seconds of intro, a solo in the middle, three choruses. No fade and no slowdown. It stops at full level.

Blunt
At full level from the first bar. Low, mid-paced, four and a half minutes, the longest cut on side A. Two intros, a stop before the solo, a last run at the verse and chorus.

Glacier
The tempo halves. Seven forty-two, three solos, three bridges. Almost no stereo spread; it sits down the middle. Longer than anything else on the record by three minutes.

Berserk
About half the energy sits in one octave near the low E. Angular, off the grid. There is a passage where it sounds like it is coming apart. It does not.

Mammals
The fastest track here, and almost all verse. The floor drops out completely at 1:16. A chorus cut in half, two dead stops, bridges that go somewhere else. Fades over the last twelve seconds, the only fade on the album.

Rough
The flattest level on the record. Three minutes that barely move, lower and dirtier than what sits on either side of it.

Instrument
The darkest track on Golf, nearly all of it under 400 Hz with no top end. Drums alone, then a groove that cycles and never climbs. Shortest thing on the album. There is a high note in it that should not be there.

Ballistic
Fast and loose. The floor drops out twice in the first half, at twenty-six seconds and just after a minute ten. Two outros. The first one is wrong.
